Winchester School of Chinese Culture (WSCC) is a non-profit organization established on August 1st, 2004.

It's weekend school is located at Lynch Elementray school, Winchester, MA. It's afterschool program is located at 478 Main Street, Winchester, MA.

WSCC teaches simplified Mandarin characters with pinyin system. At higher grades, traditional characters will be introduced. We adopt Ma Liping Textbook series from Stanford Chinese School as major textbooks for Kindergarten and higher grades. This set of textbooks have been proven to be an effective teaching system for American-Chinese children learning Chinese up to an advanced level (For details, please visit www.mychineseschool.com).

WSCC's affiliated after school program is Winchester's first multi-cultural, bilingual after school program opened in fall 2008. The after school program is to enhance Chinese learning environment by immerge the students in daily Chinese speaking, listening and reading.

Upon arriving the after school facility, children will be given snacks. Then they will be escorted to the designated classrooms by teachers. Teachers will help children with their Chinese homework from the Sunday school as well as the English homework from their Elementary schools during homework time. (We followed the traditional way of homework first, play after). After homework, teachers will hold Chinese activates such as reading Chinese stories, working on arts and crafts projects, playing traditional Chinese games, sing Chinese songs, watch Chinese movies, learning Chinese dance and martial arts etc.

Through activities and play, we also teach children traditional moral value such as respect, honesty, loyalty, truthfulness, cooperation, negotiating skills, how to deal with people you disagree with, and how to express feelings in words. http://www.wscc-ma.org/
