[edit] Channel Strength

Backed by the editorial power of The Times Group and a news desk of over 60 Entertainment News reporters delivering three and a half hours of original content from the world of entertainment and glamour daily, ZoOm files around 150 stories every week. Access to the powerful editorial infrastructure of the Times group gives is a competitive advantage that cannot be easily replicated.

[edit] Audience Connect

As far as trade details go, ZoOm targets the 15-44 age group in the SEC AB set. It has been able to consistently improve its reach, and time spent, currently occupying an impressive 11th position amongst all channels in terms of GRPs in the six metro markets (Source: TAM media research GRPs CS4 + weekly average 6 metros, 13 weeks average).[1]

[edit] International Syndication

The channel has deals for distribution in countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Canada, South Africa and the Maldives. Negotiations are on for syndication in the United States, United Kingdom, Kenya, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka, among others.

[edit] New Media

ZoOm has also managed to make a mark on the new media front, and has carved a niche on the Internet. Over 100,000 people now tune in daily to watch ZoOm videos online, at www.zoomTV.in. The site’s content is distributed across ten of the top 15 Bollywood Web sites. In a mere three months, ZoOm has clocked over 23,00,000,00 views on YouTube, and has become the biggest official Indian television partner on the biggest online video aggregator.

[edit] Prime Content

Apart from award-winning presentation —— the channel won Gold at the Promax & BDA India 2005 awards, for Best Original Logo Design —— what gives ZoOm its edge in an increasingly crowded space, is its innovative content. ZoOm knocked on the doors of Bollywood from Day One, pioneering the concept of Bollywood celebrity chats with programmes like Just Pooja and The Manish Malhotra Show, in 2005. It continues that winning streak with strong Bollywood-driven shows like Page 3, Popkorn and Planet Bollywood. What it has pulled off, in the process, is nothing short of a revolution, giving viewers a ticket into the lives of the country’s biggest celebrities —— a possibility that simply didn't exist until the channel first aired.

ZoOm continues to be a pioneer, not just with lifestyle programming like Maximum Style, but also through shows like Director's Cut —— a first-of-its-kind initiative that brought renowned filmmakers from behind the camera and into India’s living rooms.
