Zhao Leji

Zhao Leji (Chinese: 赵乐际; born 1957) is a Chinese statesman and politician. He is a member of the 16th and 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, perviously the secretary of the Qinghai CPC Committee, and chairman of the Standing Committee of Qinghai Provincial People's Congress, Zhao is now the Party chief in Shaanxi.

Zhao was born in Xining, Qinghai. He joined the Communist Party in 1975 and entered Peking University in 1977; he studied philosophy there until 1980. He then spent three years teaching at the Qinghai Provincial Commerce School before serving in various administrative and political roles in Qinghai.
Zhao became the provincial vice-governor in 1999 (having worked in the governor's office since 1993), and acceded to the post of governor in 2002; he was re-elected in 2003. In 2007, he was transferred to become party chief in Shaanxi.
