ZULFIKAR KHAN NASIR
Zulfikar Khan Nasir, a prominent Judicial Officer, is not only well known in judicial circle but has also attained a wide fame as a bold community development leader. He is working as Judge, District Consumer Court, Sahiwal and as such has served in that capacity of judicial officer for the period of more than 18 years both in cadre as well as on ex-cadre positions including Deputy Solicitor, Govt. of The Punjab and Convener, Human Rights Commission of Punjab and Section Officer Human Rights, Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department, Lahore. In recognition of deep concern for inter faith interaction and communal harmony, the State Department of U.S.A. sponsored him as INTERNATIONAL VISITOR on “Religion & Politics in U.S.A. in the year 1999”. Previously he had been doing his research in the National Hijra Council Islamabad for quite a sufficient time and rendered valuable services when Arabic Text of “Kitab-ul-Amwal” was translated by him in English. Born on February 10, 1961 at Jhang to a family with modest means of living yet highly respected and politically oriented, Zulfikar Khan Nasir is Prolific Leader and fought against all odds and society prejudices. He self supported his education undertaking part time assignments. He struggled very hard for both attaining his education as well as earning his livelihood at time by providing extra coaching to students. After completing his Matriculation, he was admitted to Government K.A. Islamia Inter College, Jamia Mohammadi Sharif where he stood first in the intermediate examination 1978. He was awarded an academic Role of Honour in Persian in the year 1978 from the same college. Certificate of Honourable mention in Persian was also awarded to him in the year 1979 by Government College Jhang. His thirst for education never suppressed and he did L.L.B (Sharia) four year course which stands at par with the Master Degree in relevant discipline/field vide University Grants Commission’s notification # 8-1/Accad.186, dated 25-1-1986. He has been associating with political activities during and after schooling. He was staunch member of ISO at Government College Jhang. He took over as first Vide President of Islamic Student Council, International University, Islamabad and helped Formation of MSF unit in Rawalpindi/Islamabad for the first time. He was elected as Divisional Organizer of Muslim Students Federation and continued to be member of Central Working Committee till 1987. After joining the Bar Association at Jhang, he was saddled with responsibility for the office of Vice President of Tehsil Muslim League. During his career as Judicial Officer, he has twice contested Election of Punjab Judicial Officers Association and at present is Vice President of the Association. In addition to his participation in development organizations; he joined World Organization of Scout Movement as Boy Scout during elementary school education and served as Group Leader in Nathia Galli. He is still member of World Assembly of Muslim Youth. He belongs to a middle class Naul family which outnumbers any other tribe at Tehsil Jhang in terms of population. His uncle Soba Khan remained member of Zilla Council Jhang and one of his cousins namely Ghulam Fareed Khan Naul besides remaining vice Chairman Zilla Council Jhang and after serving the bench as Sessions Judge is incumbent President of District Bar Association for the Successive year. In short, Zulfikar Khan Nasir is a man of knowledge, action and dedicated public servant. In addition to attaining religious knowledge not as a source of livelihood but for service to humanity, service to Islam and humanity is inherent in him. He always participates in constructive activities concerning society. He is a staunch believer of God, finality of prophet hood upon prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Qura’n as the last testament and not as a religion but as the complete code of life. He always takes inspiration from the glorious lives of the prophets and pious people and strongly believes that salvation can only be attained by following the commandments of Almighty Allah in letter and spirit and practicing divine teachings, which stress upon human dealings based on mutual respect, love, dignity and honour irrespective of colour, creed, sect, sex and race. He is very bold, dynamic and sincere in his dealings with his fellow human beings. Ideality, responsibility and service to humanity remain the foundation pillars upon which his life has been built.
