Zavrč is the smallest municipality in Slovenia.
[edit] History
The Roman road that connected Poetovio (Ptuj) and Essec (Osijek) led through todays Zavrč, so thats why arheologists found Roman coins and tools from stone age. In the year 1430 the parish of Zavrč is first mentioned in an old Latin and German handwritings, named parish of Saurig or Sauritsch. Beginnings of school lead us to year 1671, when they started to teach children in a private house. In the year 1812 priest gave the permission to reconstruct the school-room, so that more kids were able to go to school. They finally built the new school in the year 1889.
[edit] Sports
