Zee Entertainment Enterprises (aka Zee Telefilms Ltd.) is the largest media and entertainment company in India and is a part of the Essel Group. It owns over 14 different television channels, a cable company SitiCable, a record label Zee Records, a production company and other businesses as well. It was launched in October 1992 and has since grown into a dominant player in Indian television. It has expanded operations abroad, with several of its channels available in the UK, U.S. as well as Africa and Asia.

During 2006, the Group acquired Integrated Subscriber Management Services Limited and in November 2006, it acquired 50% of interest in Ten Sports channel and in 2002 has also acquired 51% in ETC Networks.

The group, as Zee Telefilms, formed part of the BSE Sensex from 2000-2005. Its news and regional entertainment channel business was demergrd from it in year 2006 to Zee News Limited and it was renamed Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.[1]
