Zeitgeist Films is an American independent film distributor based in New York City. It was founded in June, 1988 by co-presidents Nancy Gerstman and Emily Russo. Films distributed by Zeitgeist Films are strongly auteur-driven and offer a very distinct visual style and often unique content. Amongst the films it has released are: The City, Nowhere In Africa, A Place Called Chiapas, Taste of Cherry, Following, Travellers and Magicians, Poison, and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
