[edit] History

Zoop was originally created in 2001 and shortly after dubbed the pehppy framework. Three independent groups used and developed separate code bases of this pehppy framework. In 2004 Steve Francia decided to try to merge the three code bases back into one code base, taking the best features from each. Steve Francia also took over as project manager of this project. So many changes were made that the development team agreed that perhaps a new name would be a wise choice and so the once pehppy framework was renamed the Zoop Framework for PHP.
