[edit] Tie pictures
Hi,
I am adding "no source" tags to the pictures of ties you have uploaded. We aren't allowed to grab pictures from around the web and upload them here on Wikipedia, unless the pictures are in the public domain or have been released under the GFDL. The safe assumption to make is that everything on the Web is copyrighted, unless:
- it's clearly stated along with the work that it has been released under the GFDL
- it is in the public domain because the creator specifically says so
- it is a work of an employee of the US federal government (and hence in the public domain)
- the creator of the work died more than 100 years ago, and hence it's in the public domain everywhere.
There are other instances where it's OK for us to use an image. See Wikipedia:Copyright tags for more info. Again, though, the safe assumption is that everything you see on the Web is copyrighted and unavailable for our use.
Thanks - Tempshill 17:52, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
