Talk:Zanzibari ryal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Retitle this please?
The currency of Zanzibar was called the Ryal, not the Riyal, which is the currency of Saudi Arabia and Oman. Therefore, the article should be retitled as the Zanzibari Ryal - (192.190.108.19 01:58, 12 February 2006 (UTC))
- We could use either "rial", "ryal" or "riyal", given the original Arabic spelling. The Saudis write "riyal" on the back of their banknotes, whereas the Omanis write "rial". We really need to know what was written contemporarily in Zanzibar.
