[edit] Article Creation

I've never started an article on Wikipedia before, and this is a somewhat distasteful subject. But the recent spectacle of the Steorn failed demo of free energy led me to read up on this other company that made a big splash in 2002 claiming to have broken the laws of information theory, told the press they were going to do a demo, and then vanished without a word. I think articles covering these types of situations builds a bit of accountability into the system, and might possibly discourage people from being tolerant of such shady ways of presenting innovations in the future. I also think it's good to shine a light on the press's participation—I was astonished that Reuters had pulled their news article and I had to go to the internet archive to find it. That's more interesting than the hoax itself...and I'm interested to see how the press deals with Steorn. Metaeducation 04:54, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
