Zeltingen-Rachtig is a municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, along the Mosel River. It consists of two village parts Zeltingen and Rachtig which once were separate villages.
[edit] Vineyards
The area is famous for its wine. Famous vineyard locations being:
- Zeltinger Sonnenuhr
- Zeltinger Himmelreich
- Zeltinger Schlossberg
- Zeltinger Deutschherrenberg
This is the order of quality that most lovers of the wine of Zeltingen would place them in. The wines of Zeltingen are usually somewhat fuller-bodied than most other Mosel wines, and are often slightly 'spritzig', i.e. have a slight tendency to natural effervescence. Zeltinger Deutschherrenberg does not seem to exist any more: the area shown on wine maps as this vineyard does not have any vines now.
