Zuam da Leze was a 16th century Venetian clavicembalo player, who travelled from his homeland to England, where he played at the court of Henry VIII of England, hoping to get a job. When he was thanked and paid for the performance, but not offered a job, he was desolated, because he had spent all his money on his instrument and travelling, and was stuck in a foreign country without a job. So, at the feast after his performance, he stabbed himself with his meat knife. The servants quietly took him outside and mended his wound, but when they left he hung himself with his belt.
