This article needs an image (preferably free) related to the subject, such as a picture of the set or a film poster. A possibility for American films from before 1964 would be a screenshot from the trailer, as these are now in the public domain. Please make sure fair use is properly observed, or the image will be removed. See WP:Films MOS for image guidelines and assistance in uploading.
Maintenance A plot summary needs to be added to this film article, or the current one needs to be expanded.
Maintenance Please add more information about the cast and the crew, discussing the "behind the scenes" aspects of the production process, and giving insights into the casting and staffing where possible. See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines for more advice.

[edit] Please explain

I am the author of the majority of the text of the article about Charlie Deaux's Zoetrope. I want to make two remarks, and I hope the Wikipedia editors will justly hear me out: 1) I have watched Zoetrope several times and have a deep interest in avant garde movies, and, consequently, have a vast knowledge of such movies. The article is based on my comparisons with other similar movies in this genre. These should not need citations, because they come straight from my head. This drawing of comparisons is of course debatable, but so is any kind of similarity between films. I would gladly see other wikipedia editors adding to the sum of knowledge presented, but I cannot provide sources for these claims - for there simply aren't any! Please take this into consideration and moderate the articles more carefully. Most wikipedia articles don't have such a rigorous citation requirement. In this case this is totally unneccessary. The only part that may require a citation is from an abandoned post at an internet forum, available at forum.cinefacts.de/archive/index.php/t-51540.html . It is up to the moderator to decide whether this is a credible source of information. I believe so, since I think it impossible for someone to invent this quote, taking into consideration the fact its striking relevance and insight into the movie itself.

The bottom line is: I deeply urge you to remove the "citations needed" since they undermine the authority of the text. There can be no citations, since these comparisons are drawn from my knowledge of avant garde movies. If you in some ways disagree, then please remove the article entirely. Finding these three citations is impossible. 2) Please bear in mind that as a text about an avant garde movie, this article has to pertain to different stardards than those devised by wikipedia for the bulk of movies. This means, that, for example, it is highly questionable if someone can come up with a "plot summary" for the movie, because the movie itself has no plot to speak of, rather, it is a series of dark images, connected with an apocalyptic theme. Please bear this in mind when reviewing such articles.

The main problem with this article is that most of it says nothing about the film itself. Listing other movies and filmakers that it reminds you of is kind of silly, and seems to serve as hyperlinked padding for a very thin article. If you know something about the film, you should write that. Please note that one of Wikipedia's policies is that no original research should be included in its articles. If your interpretations or analyses are based on your own opinions and not on accepted readings of the film, this is not the place for them. Additionaly, the call for citations is meant, first and foremost, to establish the notability of the film, that is, to see if it is even worthy of being included in Wikipedia. If, for example, you read an article or review of the film, it should be cited here. AshcroftIleum 23:36, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
