The event began with a match between Hakushi and The 1-2-3 Kid. After back and fourth action, Hakushi pinned Kid after a spinning side slam.[1] Next was a match between Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Bob Holly. Despite having the upper hand over Hemsley, Holly was hiptossed onto the ring floor.[1]

[edit] Miscellaneous

  • To date, this is the only time that the WWF Women's Championship has changed hands at a SummerSlam event.
  • Lex Luger made his final appearance on WWF TV in the main event (where he prevented Sir Mo from further inteference) as he jumped ship to World Championship Wrestling the week after SummerSlam.
  • The Fabulous Moolah was present at the event, although she did not appear on the show. Moolah, accompanied with a small entourage, walked through the crowd at Gate A of the Pittsburgh Civic Arena before the doors were opened on the afternoon of the event. [citation needed]
