Description

Double exposure photograph of a laboratory scale z-pinch device in operation with a Hydrogen plasma. One exposure not operating, a second through a Hydrogen Balmer-gamma emission line narrow bandwidth filter, capturing emission from the plasma while the device was operating (the purple glow). Photographed in 1986 by me, Sandpiper 17:35, 13 December 2005 (UTC).
