Zodiac Films’ first independent feature film debut -- the romantic comedy, How To Love – was entirely filmed in Boulder, Colorado in 2004 and laid the foundation for this flourishing, Colorado-based film production company. In early 2006, Zodiac Films completed production on its second feature film, Unknown. Primarily shot in Boulder and Hudson, Colorado, Unknown marked Zodiac’s turn towards more serious, ensemble-based drama. Currently, Zodiac Films is in pre-production for its third feature film and first spiritual thriller, Awaken.

The Zodiac Films team is comprised of experienced and passionate industry professionals committed to making original, cutting-edge entertainment a reality.


North - Director/Producer/Writer North’s artistic purpose is to inspire expression wherever he goes. His hope is to beautify the world by enhancing people’s view of their surroundings. North believes in the Three E’s – Economical, Engaging and Educational. All works of art should be economically reasonable and sustainable, and should engage and inform the audience in some way, directly or indirectly, ultimately enriching their lives.

A director, writer and producer, North has been a part of the independent film scene for nearly ten years, creating such short films as Behind Pictures: A Silent Poem in 1997, Seize the Day in 1998, Passages in 2002 and Transitions: The Story of a Female Transexual in 2002. In 2004, Ford worked on two documentaries, Denver of Iniquity: Iniquiteaser 2 and Boa Boa Festival, and also wrote Ten-Finger Spread. After writing and directing Zodiac’s 2004 film, How to Love, North also directed, wrote and produced Zodiac’s recent film Unknown.

Donald Rottenbucher - Producer A native of the Detroit area, Donald Rottenbucher has been working in media since 1999, first as a freelance music journalist and then as a radio host. Since his move to Colorado, Donald has worked as a production manager, production assistant and grip, and is currently a production manager for Media, a Colorado-based DVD distribution and film production company.

In 2005, he produced The Forgotten Films of Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle and also served as production assistant on the documentary, The Super Fight: Marciano vs. Ali. Recently, Zodiac Films recruited Donald as the 2nd AD on their feature film production Unknown. Donald will also be producing Zodiac Film’s upcoming spiritual thriller, Awaken.
