[edit] License tagging for Image:Southwest Asia2.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:Southwest Asia2.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:09, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:NearEast2.png
Thanks for uploading Image:NearEast2.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:NearEast2.png
| This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:NearEast2.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:30, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Greece !=Asia
Please stop adding that Greece is part of Asia. You've been reverted several times. Greece is culturally part of Europe, and no part of Greece is in Asia, save possible its territories; in that case, we might as well include the UK in America for the Virgin Islands. The Evil Spartan 16:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
The Aegean islands belonging to Greece and on Asia's continental shelf are not territories, but as culturally Greek as the other Greek islands and mainland and fully integrated into Greece. However, this does not change the fact that Wikipedia's definitons allow these islands to be regarded as associated with Asia and justify the inclusion of Greece as a transcontinental state. [edit] Greece is a transcontinental state
I am on your side in this argument with El Greco about whether Greece is a transcontinental country. One of my college history professors agrees with me about several percent of Greece technically being in Asia. Wikipedia's transcontinental country definition with respect to islands allows the Greek islands on Asia's continental shelf to be associated with Asia. However, if we can't find some outside online source crediting Greece with possessing Asian Aegean islands, El Greco will prevail. Heff01 01:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
We can win this argument for the truth that several percent of Greece consists of islands associated with Asia IF we can prove that its easternmost Aegean islands are on Asia's continental shelf. We need whatever resources that we can make online cites to in order to pull this off. Heff01 01:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Canvassing
[1] [2] and [3] are considered canvassing, and are against policy. Please don't only contact users on your side of a discussion. Thanks. The Evil Spartan 16:43, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:GDP PPP per capita world map IMF figures year 2006(2).png
In July you've made some changes in that map, but you had kept the previous wrong changes (made by a previous wikipedian) unchnaged. I couldn't find out which changes you have made, so I reverted the map back to the latest correct version (i.e. the version which shows Bulgaria as a country of which the GDP per capita is lower than 10,000$ according to IMF). You're welcome to add back your changes - without the wrong change (made by a previous wikipedian) regarding Bulgaria; next time - please indicate (in the summery) more information about your changes, so that we will be able to add them back when reverting to the latest correct version... Thank you. Eliko 20:38, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

The Biography WikiProject Newsletter Volume IV, no. 4 - September 2007 |
|
Congratulations to our 225 new members |
The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Developed and developing countries.png
Thank you for uploading Image:Developed and developing countries.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Muchness (talk) 11:16, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
