Zero Tolerance Magazine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zero Tolerance Magazine is an extreme music magazine published by Obdurate Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Published bi-monthly, it can be found on newsstands in the UK, Europe and North America - and is available (with some delay) on newsstands in Australia and specialist retailers in New Zealand and Taiwan. The magazine features a covermount CD.
It was launched in 2004 by Lisa Macey (formerly a publisher of Terrorizer Magazine) and Leon Macey (of death metal band Mithras). The magazine is edited by Calum Harvie, whose journalism has also appeared in Metal Hammer and Unrestrained! magazines. Previous editors are Lisa Macey and Lee du Caine. The news/reviews editor, Russell Garwood, is also editor of the webzine Ultimate Metal.
Zero Tolerance Magazine gives coverage to established extreme music artists, but is particularly notable for seeking out obscure artists in experimental and heavy music, and sharing rare trade information from musicians, artists, promoters, directors and many other creative professions. Each issue includes a 'Beneath The Remains' double-page spread, exploring the local underground extreme music scene in a geographic region (usually a small country or large city).
The writers - referred to as The Panel - hail from the UK, North America, continental Europe, and Australia. Notable regular contributors include Adrian Bromley, Sarah Jezebel Deva, Alex S Johnson, Dan Lilker, Shelley Slater, Nathan T Birk and Adam Wasylyk.
