[edit] George IV FPC
Hi there. I thought you would be interested to hear that I added another version to the George IV featured picture candidate, this time without the halftoning. See what you think, cheers. Chris.B 20:12, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE:AfD request
Hi! Thanks for your message. Perhaps I am sometimes unaware of my own naïveté, but my posts of the link were not intended to be disruptive at all. I simply aimed to highlight that the arguments weren't very good ones and were all based on the same, in my belief, fallacious principle. I just dislike the "useful" argument and it seemed to crop up a lot. If you would like to propose a discussion or make an argument in return to a vote/reason, you are perfectly entitled to do so (although I'm not advocating discussion erring on a point type thing, though I'm sure you are more capable of expressing yourself in an eloquent way...unlike myself *d'oh*).
I sincerely apologise for those posts because I have misconveyed my intention. I shall also make an apology on the talk page so that everyone else will be aware that they were good faith edits.
Also, thank-you for alerting me to how my userpage looks. I use firefox, which must render my page differently to how other browsers view it. Foolishly (or perhaps due to my dislike) I had not checked how it would look in IE. :-)

- EDIT: Incidentally, what browser are you using (if you don't mind me asking)? I have now viewed the page using firefox and IE but cannot see the problem. I noticed, however, that part of the formatting was not exactly as I wanted it and thus appreciate your note anyway :-).

[edit] Houdini stamp image not in public domain
Just a heads up (I'm not losing sleep over this): I don't think that your image of the 2002 stamp of Harry Houdini (as displayed in the Houdini entry) is in the public domain. According to Wikipedia itself:
-
- Title 17 of the United States Code (source : en:United States Postal Service) :
- public domain if issued before 31 December 1978
- copyrighted United States Postal Service after 1 January 1979. Written permission is needed, see USPS site.
- Title 17 of the United States Code (source : en:United States Postal Service) :
If you click on the USPS link above, they pretty much state that even for non-profit use you need to ask for permission. If you want to go ahead and delete properly see Wikipedia's deletion process for images like this. --Quartermaster (talk) 13:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Houdini USPS Stamp.jpg listed for deletion
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Houdini USPS Stamp.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. —Angr If you've written a quality article... 18:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
