[edit] General Motors
Just a comment on your recent edits to General Motors; I would rather give some input on your changes than to change it myself. First, I like how you split the list up by Active NA, Active Overseas, and Defunct, it makes more sense, and I'm surprised I didn't think of it myself. I'm not sure deleting single-model brands is really a good approach to begin with, but I certainly think that Oakland belongs, as it was one of the original brands that made up the company, and I also feel that the companion makes Marquette and Viking (along with LaSalle, already included) should also be listed. Particularly since Pontiac was itself the companion make for Oakland, but also because this was an extension of the idea 'a car for every purse and purpose,' which was a large part of GM's strategy throughout the company's history.--Scottr76 05:00, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps we should make a seperate category for defunct nameplates versus including them with the brands. As far as Oakland goes, your right, it should be. I'll fix it now.Zspencegm 05:07, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
