While I use Wikipedia all the time to get answers to my questions, I will only be editing one article. That article is Francis T. Evans. What made me decide to edit this article is the fact that the previous contributors did not realize that there are TWO famous military pilots with the name Francis T. Evans. They are father and son and Sr. and Jr. Now the problem is, should there be one page for each aviator or leave the page as is.

I am an eyewitness, along with many other of my classmates (20 of which went to school together for all 12 years) and schoolmates, of the final 7 to 10 seconds of USAF Capt. Francis T. Evans Jr's. last flight. Since he was just a few feet above the treetops we heard the jet before we could see it. Virtually everyone turned to look because it was obvious from the sound that he was too low. The Forestville Elementary School building was no more than 30' from being directly under the final approach and only 1 mile north of the main runway (190) so we were all miniature "experts" on military aircraft take-offs and landing sounds. For the above reasons, I feel I am able to shed some light on this subject. Anyone needing further information than is supplied in this article, please click on the link referring to the Francis T. Evans Jr. Story. The different links there will take you to the Evans Family website, the History of Marine Corps Aviation website, and the Francis T. Evans Elementary School website which has a short history of why the school has that name. On the main website there are pictures of the Forestville Elementary School and the dedication plaque and portrait still in the building to this day.
