[edit] Primerica Financial Services

Why do you keep removing sourced criticism from Primerica Financial Services? -Will Beback 23:17, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Because the criticsm is inaccurate. Primerica is a General Agency, not an MLM. Primerica is a division of Citigroup, which is also a BANK. Banks cannot be MLM organizations. Also "pyramids" or more accurately, Ponzi schemes, are illegal in the U.S. Primerica is a member of the NASD, which is the regulatory arm of the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).

The confusion exists because Primerica, unlike traditional financial organizations, has eliminated the Field Marketing Director (FMD) position as the focus builder of brokerages, and allows representatives to recruit people in order to create a distribution network. This looks like MLM. But the Primerica Business Model allows override commissions only up to 6 generations, and makes it possible for a recruit to pass the person who hired her, on the basis of productivity.

Hope that clarifies things.

Thanks fo the reply. The proper thing to do is not to delete sourced criticisms which are inaccurate, but to add sourced rebuttals showing the other side of the matter. That's how we achieve the neutral point of view. Also, the Citigroup link is unnecessary because we already have an article about Citigroup, which has a link to the companies website. W can discss the details of the material and the allegations on the article talk page, Talk:Primerica Financial Services. -Will Beback 23:49, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
