Zilla is one of the most ancient brassicaceae, growing in the Sharo-Arabian extreme deserts. It is a short leaved herbaceous naked, bluish-waxy perennial or an annual with a roundish canopy. Their flowers are light violet. Fruits are cheekpea-like. In rainy years Zilla spinosa forms nice violets patches in the desert.
