[edit] Is Life the Best Choice?

On a dark night in May, Samuel and Nancy were sitting in their home with the

fire as their only source of light. Their six children were all asleep in bed. Nancy and

Samuel were expecting their next child in eight months time. They both were not excited

to be having another child. Already being the parents of six children, they agreed that

another child would be quite a handful. After talking into the night about the matter, both

Sam and Nancy agreed that abortion would be the best option.

Thirty-five years later, Sam and Nancy both were still together in the same home.

All their children had grown up and left home to start their own families. Though raising

six children was stressful at times, not a day went by that both of them that they thought

of the seventh child they aborted. They felt guilt everyday and regretted their decision. If

only Samuel and Nancy understood what their decision 35 years ago would have meant

today. Perhaps they would not be sitting in darkness. Their son would have invented the

light bulb, video camera, sound recording devices, and motion pictures (Edison). That

boy would have been Sam and Nancy’s son. Thomas Edison would have changed the

world for the better.

Fortunately, in 1847, Nancy Edison gave birth to Thomas (Edison). He grew up to

be a great man that invented machines and products that revolutionized the world.

Through one of his inventions, the video camera, humans can experience different places

that they would never travel to. Imagine what it would be like to miss out on life. To

never see the blue sky or feel running water. What would it be like never to hear the

sound of a buzzing of a bee or to smell a red blooming rose?

Life is a privilege that many have the chance to experience. Every child has a

purpose in their life. Unfortunately, many are not given the chance to live because they

are aborted by their parents who do not want them for some reason. Each human being

impacts the world in some way, even if they do not realize it. A person does not need to

arise to amazing accomplishments to be important. Life is a one time chance that

unfortunately, is being abused not by the unborn child but their parents.

Worldwide, 126,000 babies are taken away the privilege to live everyday

(Statistics). Adolf Hitler killed 11 million people during his horrific takeover of Germany

(Hitler). But every year, the world aborts 46 million unborn children (Statistics). The

murder that Hitler committed is no different than abortion. The baby is alive inside the

womb. Many argue that women should have a choice because they should be able to run

their own life. But what about the developing baby? Life is the best choice.
