Zero Landmine is an EP created to promote awareness of the problem of landmines and promote a ban on landmines. Ryuichi Sakamoto and other musicians formed a group called NML ("No More Landmines) on April 25, 2001 to release a single.

TBS started broadcasting the 50th anniversary of landmine eradication campaign as part of this song. Ryuichi Sakamoto and other musicians wished to bring attention to the issue of landmines. Sakamoto was sympathetic to the tenor of domestic and foreign artists and musicians who gathered to form the unit NML (NO MORE LANDMINE). Landmines are still buried in several countries.
