Talk:Zero-knowledge web application
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I believe this article goes against the "no personal research" guidelines.
The phrase "Zero-knowledge web application" was coined by Clipperz to promote their product. I can respect attempting to introduce a new paradigm into web applications, but this particular concept has never been submitted as a standard other than to declare it one on the Clipperz blog itself [1]. This article in Wikipedia is nearly a copy and paste from that post.
I run the competing software to Clipperz, so I do not feel it is ethical of me to change this article. Instead, I'd like to propose that someone please make the following inconsistencies clear, or at least let's discuss them and how to best handle corrections:
- "Zero-Knowledge" is a term borrowed from cryptography. Whereas "Zero-knowledge web application" is personal research, not a cryptographic standard nor a recognized security pattern nor otherwise.
- Host-Proof Hosting is not the same as "Zero-knowledge web application". "Host-proof hosting" should be moved into a section "History" so as not to imply otherwise. Host-Proof Hosting has become a de facto standard.[2]
- Remove subjective wording like "A neat idea" and "easy to fall for a new fancy feature"
- There are some underlying flaws in the "Zero-knowledge web application" definition. These should be brought to light in the article.
Hoping to get some ideas on how to best proceed.
