[edit] High School
Chris attended Oberlin High School, a public school in the town of Oberlin, Ohio. Here he showed promise in athletics from early on in his career, participation in both varsity football and baseball. As an upperclassmen, Schubert began drawing interest from college football programs across the country.
[edit] Oberlin
As a true freshman in 2004, Schubert played in 6 regular season games before breaking his collarbone on a touchdown reception. Upon his return for his Sophomore season in 2005, Schubert led the Yeomen in receiving yards and touchdowns on the way to his second consecutive All-NCAC selection. Selected as a team captain by his teammates in both the 2006 and 2007 seasons, Schubert continued to lead the team in receptions, returns, and touchdown catches on the way to his third and fourth All-NCAC selections and an invitation to play in the Division III All-American Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
[edit] Post-College
Upon finishing his career at Oberlin, Shubert sought to continue his career as a football player in the professional ranks. Although he did attend a mini camp hosted by the Cleveland Browns at the end of March 2008, he was not picked up by the team. Shubert continues to work out in Oberlin with the goal of trying out for a spot on an AFL roster during the fall of 2008.
