Zetix is a fabric invented by Auxetix, a UK company.
Many articles on Zetix describe it as having an inner structure that is adamantiumtastic.
All of this is thanks to a property that apparently defies the laws of physics: helical-auxetics, objects that actually get fatter the more you stretch them.
It is an auxetic material that is so strong it will resist multiple car bomb blasts without breaking. It absorbs and disperses the energy from explosions.
Zetix combines the very expensive high-performance materials with cheaper bulk components in a 1-to-100 ratio while maintaining it's blast-resistant properties of the high-performance materials.
[edit] Usage
body armor, seat belts, window covering, dental floss, military tents, hurricane defenses and medical sutures that will not damage body tissue. Also has some very interesting applications in composite materials.
Also in threads and ropes, knots under tension may be more secure because auxetic material expands when stretched.[citation needed]
